I have a 73 Euro GTS that has seatbacks that recline and fold forward. The capability to recline is of limited use but it does come in handy to lay the seat back a notch or two to provide enough headroom to wear a helmet. I've seen these recliner mechanisms on newer Panteras and assumed that they all came that way. The fold forward capability makes it pretty easy to access rear bulkhead, but I still take out the passenger seat to take it out so I have some elbow room when working on the front of the motor. Which brings to mind one a question of no real significance but a nagging source of curiosity. On the hinge with the recline lever there is a small knob (about the size of a quarter) that turns. I haven't figured out (nor found someone who knows) what the knob is supposed to do. I can't see anything happening when I mess with it. Just one of life's little mysteries. Anybody with higher DeTomaso learning know what the knob is for? ==============================================================================
