I had all of the synchros, bearings and bushings replaced for $3,200 of = which the parts cost $2,300. As I recall, one bearing was $500. When I = shopped the parts through the vendors Dennis had the lowest cost, Hall = had the highest cost and Butfoy (the supplier) was the medium priced = vendor. I had the work performed by Greg Hunt. Greg was the chief = mechanic for Jaguar racing and was recruited by Reeves Callaway for his = racing endeavors. He has his own machine shop now in Old Saybrook, = Connecticut. I was not enthralled with the idea of shipping the box out = to Butfoy - or anywhere that I could not see the condition of the parts = that were being replaced. Not at these prices. Like Mike, I have not had the opportunity to check out the gearbox. Used = OEM parts but there is always that nagging concern until you put it down = that road. My box appears to be a "transition" box with a single mount = but labeled as a 5DS/25-2 series. Hopefully, all those bits work in this = box.
