The "bundle of snakes" exaust seems to be the full-tilt push the envelope way to go. Looks and sounds totally awesome, but alas, not streetable. Too bad. Just ask Bill Hohnhorst about his race car set up. He's sending them out to be Jet-Hot coated >(at a cost of about $250) before installation. Tell me more about these headers. What are the primary tube lengths and diameters? I've been less than impressed with the design of the Pantera headers I've seen. Either the primary diameter is too large or the length too short or the collector too small. In other applications, a typical Cleveland header might have a primary diameter of 1 3/4" or 1 7/8", a primary tube length of 32" to 36", and a gently tapering collector with a diameter of 3" to 3 1/2". A typical Pantera header might have short 2" diameter primaries dumping into an abrupt collector of 2 1/4" diameter. It appears the problems stem from trying to make the headers bolt up to the stock tailpipe flange, though there may be some clearance problems as well. It seems to me that, if someone didn't mind replacing the entire exhaust system, there could be quite a bit of power to be gained.
