The Kurt Russel character used the tips from the monkey to make the network number one. For this he won an Emmy type award for being the TV man of the year - the network gave him the Mangusta at the same time (they didn't know about the monkey yet...). They gave him the car either at the awards show or at the party right after the show. Our first look at the car was a close up of the DeTomaso logo on the grill, the camara then panned back to show the passanger side of the car. The car might have been on a rotating platform, I can't remember. Later in the show when he was talking about his success he mentioned receiving "a DeTomaso" along with the nice apartment and money. The only other scene I remember seeing the car in was after the other TV executives found out about the monkey the decided to send it back to the jungle, Kurt drove up to the airport in the 'Goose. I don't know if I would say the car was in the story line, but it was kind of cool when it appeared in the scenes it was in... --mike > RE>>Panteras on the Screen (fwd) 9/2/97 > > Did they give the Mangusta to the "barefoot executive" in the story, or = > was it personally to Kurt Russel??
