Sorry for the late reply to this thread, but there were 220+ Pantera list = messages waiting for me when I got into work this morning (after being = out of the office for the last 4 days). On Front Shock removal ---------------------- You're are missing Brock's point, you don't have to release the lower = ball joint at the taper to release the lower shock, just remove the 2 = through bolts holding the ball joint to the lower a-arm and the a-arm can = be lowered farther to allow more room to pull the stock and/or Koni = shocks out (I guess Aldans and Carreras front shocks are shorter = preventing this problem). On Koni Shocks -------------- I believe the problem that Brock is having is the same I dealt with = earlier this year. The Koni's have a defective upper extension bumper, = which disintegrates and clogs up the oil passages. Mine disintegrated = when I left the suspension hanging for several months; worked before, = didn't work after. It seems that when left hanging with full pressure on = the shocks extension bumber, the bumper will disintegrate; whether it = breaks up or just "flows" I don't really know. Brock's problem may be = similar... My original shocks are currently back on my car, the Koni's are awaiting = a rebuild. Does anyone have a current contact for the Koni rebuild shop = (Brock ?), I hear it is now a division of ITT somewhere back east. Reason I said do the top is, often the taper on the ball joint is hard to release.
