I have replaced my headlamp motor but it has been several years. It most definelty sounds like you have something jamming the gears inside the motor. Possibly even broken gears causing the jam. I replaced the dinky little original headlamp motor that was something in the neighborhood of $250 to replace with a Dayton Electric motor which had a grand total cost of around $25. It has worked flawlessly and only needed a minor amount of encouraging to fit in the same spot as the original motor. It did bolt right in to the same spot as the original though the Dayton was much larger in diameter. I know it has been on the car for at least 4 years and done fantastic. If anyone wants the info on it, I'll dig it out and post it. Snarlin' Puppy
