Gonna tackle a reseal on my ZF... Here's my questions for you expert aerospace/rocket engineers. 1. I noticed gear oil leaking around or through a bottom plate bolt. Anyone have this problem and how did you re-seal? What silicone or seal material did you use? 2. I believe Bryan first raised the question regarding the use of synthetic gear oil in the ZF. And while the number of synthetic gear oil users that "did not" have leaking seals seemed to outnumber the ones who did there seemed to be plenty of evidence to support that older re-seals seemed to drop synthetic alot quicker. I'd just like to see some additional opinions/second thoughts on this subject again. It has been suggested to me that "how" you reseal and "what" seal material is used is equally as importent as the gasket material being used. Has anyone seen any research on this subject?? More importently then that I wanna hear from anyone who has had GOOD luck resealing their own ZF cases. And Mike, don't tell me to talk to Roy Butfoy! :-] Thanks, Mad Dog some
