Kirby, Was the hydraulic/mechanical lifter/cam exchange the only thing that was done to the engine to make it rev that much higher (6000->7800)? All, What kind of rev limit can I expect from the use of hydraulic lifters? My engine pulls pretty strong up to a little over 5000 rpm, then just stops pulling. It does the same thing without load, so I do not think it's a fuel starvation problem. It doesn't sound like an ignition thing either, no backfiring or anything. I've assumed that what's happening is valve floating, but could the hydraulic lifters be the culprits? Should I just go for some stiffer valve springs? I kinda like the not-having-to-adjust thing with the hydraulic lifters, but I don't like that the engine won't wind out properly. It makes me kind of embarrased to hear other guys reaching close to 8 grand with their engines. Ideas or experiences anyone?
