Okay, this is not an invitation for simple, obvious insults.  Or even bad 

sexual inuendos.  How long is the dipstick supposed to be?  I have what seems 

to be a standard oil pan and my dipstick extends to the back of the block.  I 

have always changed the oil and filter at the same time.  And at this time I 

always added 5 quarts of oil.  This is the number from the owners manual.  But 

after checking it with the dipstick, I would say I was at least a quart to 

full.  I'm not losing oil pressure due to vortexes from the crank, so I am not 

worried about that.  But sometime I am going to need add a little oil and I 

won't know how much.
