Hey Dennis, You misunderstood the concept. I don't care about drag or fuel mileage. I just care that the blacked formerly chrome /stainless moulding looks awful, fits poorly, and contributes to water dripping in my lap at speed in the rain. Since I'm painting anyway, I may as well do it right. In conclusion, if I cared about drag and/or aerodynamics to that degree, you're right. I buy duct tape by the case.
