Item Subject: miata vs pantera Hi Dave, You make very good points. I think it's a -> beautiful car that is handicapped by reliability problems and aging You can pick up a Pantera for a lot less than $35K unless you insist on "all original" or "restored". As for reliability problems... you're talking about a 25 year old car in many cases, one you can get antique plates for. ($7.50 for an antique plate in Arkansas, by the way, and it's good *forever* with no renewal and no restrictions on non-commercial use) Stuff wears out. -> $40,000 I would go with a 1992 NSX. That NSX is 5 years old. It's a gadget-lover's delight of fancy doodads that are going to die periodically. Granted Honda is half fanatical on making service parts available for older cars, but that NSX is getting older too, and parts are always going to be a *lot* more expensive than for the Pantera. Besides, full-size persons such as myself won't *fit* in an NSX, and the NSX looks like a slug compared to the Pantera's crisp lines.
