RE the "best 351C"- using aluminum rods in a street engine is one of the sure ways to utterly shred an engine. They work-harden in use and WILL break, you just don't know exactly when. They are for drag racing only- they absorb shocks like detonation without transmitting it to the crank, but the absorbed shocks build up until you have two-piece rods! Nicholson always rpm-ed his engines outa the frames which is why he went to big-bore/short stroke motors and 9000rpms. Don't confuse engine uses; some of those things are extremely specialized. Oh, Jack Roush built up a stroked 400 for his replica-Cobra a while back: 4" bore by 4-3/8" stroke with Chevy-sized rods= over 500 horses & lots of torque. J DeRyke
