Subject: R1 and G-Force tires

Just pulled this off the NorCal Shelby list....



Gobble, gobble.  I called BFG this morning; here's what I got.



The G-Force is the REPLACEMENT for the R1 and not an addition to the tire

line.  Production starts the first of the year, but shipment is not expected

until at least second quarter of 98-- the rep said if they expect to ship Q2,

it'll probably be Q3.  Under contract, the first batch will be exclusive to

some sanctioning body or series.



The new tires will be phased in one size, or a small group of sizes, at a

time; as each size is introduced, the corresponding R1 size will be

discontinued.  For those wanting to stock up on R1's, there should be ample

warning for each tire size's phase out either by the newsletter or by calling

Team T/A.  (A different, but unreliable, source said the new tire doesn't

have as much camber built into it.)
