Multiple electrode (or divided electrode) plugs were invented in the '20s and have been used all that time in big radial aircraft engines 'cause they give a few percent more fouling resistance than single-electrode plugs. No other discernable advantage. Most folks I've checked say the platinum plugs only work in CDI or hi-powered electronic ignitions with short rise times and sometimes not then. At our last tech session, you coulda had two less- than-1000 mile sets for the price of pulling them outa the dumpster. AC, Champion and Motorcraft make a perfectly adequate 351C plug, cheaper than the chrome-plated whiz-bang types, that work just fine. There was an article in POCA a couple of months back on plugs that listed the ones that fit. J DeRyke
