'Nother point: a friend wanted to borrow my compression gauge one day to check

his big Dodge Ram while I was busy on one 'o my own cars. "Just gimme the

gauge, I won't bother you", he says. He pulled all 8 plugs, blocked the

throttle open and proceeded to crank until he had all 8 readings. After

reassembling, he couldn't get the thing to fire. Finally had AAA tow it away,

'cause (we found) cranking an electronic ignition with no plug wires grounded

blew the transistors apart on his factory ignition circuit board. Sometimes we

learn at somebody else's expense, sometimes at our own... J DeRyke
