Subject: Las Vegas Open Track - Update

I have spoken again with Sandy at Las Vegas.  She has put me in contact with the

insurance agent for the track (Bill).  I worked with Bill last year and he still

had the notes.  He'll meet with Sandy tomorrow about our insurance.



I've also contacted our driving instructors (Danny and Rod).  They will be with 

us once again.



I've talked with the POCA newsletter editor (Jack).  I have until the 17th to 

get him the event information.  I've asked Mike Drew to help me with that.



I've just spoken to the Las Vegas SCCA (Dave).  They will do our flagging and 

help run the event.  We will work out the final details the 1st week of January.

Dave also works for the Driving School at Las Vegas as well as being a racer 

himself.  He said that several clubs are having the same problem with the track.

They won't return the calls of the Porsche club and VARA has given up trying to 

work with them.  Even the SCCA is having problems getting dates.



On the Positive side, Dave said that he feels strongly that a "club" track will 

be completed in 1998.  This is the track that I was told would not be completed.

It's being built by the person who ran the previous driving school in Las Vegas.

Dave said it could be finished in March.  I will check it out when we are in Las

Vegas.  It's 2.2 miles in length.
