As long as the list is quiet right now with floods, "bantering", and the like, let me ask a technical question that I asked when I was having trouble accessing the list and don't think ever made it through. A couple of months ago I relocated the temperature sensor from the pressure tank to the block and noticed about a 30-40 degree difference. David Doddock pointed out that this is most likely not due to the efficient cooling capability of the tank, so assuming for the sake of argument that there really is a temp difference there must be another reason. I put a magnetic thermometer on the outside of the tank and it roughly agreed with the temp gauge when the sendor was locatde on the tank, so I believe there really may be a big temperature difference. This difference has been bugging me for a couple months now. Could I have a partial blockage in the cooling system that would do this? Restrict the flow of coolant back to the tank? How would I test for this? Have other people noticed any temperature difference when relocating their sender? I had been driving confident in the fact that my car ran consistently about 180, but now it runs consistently at 210 since I relocated it. Just wondering if I should be concerned.
