Tomas, I've worked on millions of Pantera rear axles (OK, this is an exageration, I have only done redone three pantera axle sets) and I have never come across a hexagonal axle nut. I have of course, seen my share of the original "thin" axle nuts as supplied by Detomaso. Anytime I have ordered a replacement nut (from Pantera Performance in CO, or PI Motorsports in CA or Hall Pantera) it has been the newer style "thick" axle nut that I recieved. I like the newer style nut because it looks much more substantal than the original, but I don't know if it really works any better than the original. I like any nut that keeps the axles firmly attached to my vehicle! I am not sure where the replacement hexagonal nut you have came from, but I always wondered how a nut with many shoulders on it could ever fit in such a confined space and still be able to get a wrench on it. Jim Demick It's not flooding here.
