The car has obviously been operating all along with little problem, but now you think you know how hot it really is. Don't worry, just be very sure you have good US-made hose clamps and fresh hoses everywhere, plus a fresh16-18-lb radiator cap. My wife's '97 Z-28 operates constantly at 210-220; the 'be- concerned' zone for the Chevy is 245-250! The sender in the tank is 3 feet away from the actual heat source so of course it will read lower. I think the sender was placed there for exactly that reason. Get a '73 gauge (0-260) and drive the car! J DeRyke
