We dyno-tested a stock NSX back in '95; max hp of 233 @7000 on the two-roller chassis dyno. Another friend ran one in the '96 Silver State and experienced very high rpm misfires which went away after he backed off. Honda techs afterward said the car was perfect. Mike said it felt and behaved like a rev- limiter, but it really detuned him since he didn't know what was going on and had driven to Ely in it.... There is no trunk floor up front so frt suspension work is easy but luggage space is very restricted. Motor is difficult to work on. And finally, the OHC engine is very sensitive to oil type, viscosity etc. Any restrictions, dirty oil or an old oil filter can and have wasted very expensive engines. The chassis is aluminum so it takes a TIG welder to fix things up if you (for instance) go backward off a track..... Good car; boring to drive- fall asleep @ 100 mph, zero torque until you get to 6000 rpm. Ratty stick Camaros will eat your lunch to 60 mph. Conclusion: 100 in competency; 40-50 in terms of adventures in driving... my opinion. J DeRyke
