****ATTENTION, DELETE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ MY RAMBLINGS******** Well gang this was the first World of Motorsports show I had ever attended, and I must say in all honesty I was disappointed. Yes I expected the usual assortment of Chevys, Chevys and yet more Chevys, the Fords with Ford engines, Fords with Chevy engines, Mopars with Hemis, a Dodge with Chevy motivation?! A Stud with a Vette motor, kit Ferraris, Benzs, boats and bikes. There were Harleys with blowers with drive belts that would eat an errant foot and intakes that would kill unsuspecting pedestrians. There were dragsters with bird catchers and blowers that would suck up small animals and children. There were women being let about with dazed looks on their faces by men with crazed looks on theirs. There were a lot of people that looked as though they were refugees from the '70's. There was one Pantera, I remembered it from the Great Mall Ford car show in Milpitas last summer ( The Great Mall is the old Ford plant ) , I don't recall who owned it ( I guess that doesn't score me any points), it was just another red Pantera with chrome everything and Hall Ultra wheels. There were two cars that did catch my eye, a Yenko Camaro and a Yenko Nova, very nice for Chevys. A Trans Am Mustang that I have seen at Sears Point and Laguna Seca historic races for several years was there. The vendors were nothing to get excited about, nothing new or super wowy. There was a woman selling aluminum siding! But there was a guy that would airbrush your car on a T-shirt, I wished I carried a picture of my car in my wallet like I know you guy all do for just that reason (wink, wink). There was suppose to be the front engined Pantera that was in the POCA newsletter but alas it was a no-show. And last and least there were no swimsuit contests the night I was there (dang!). Well that's my report, this is GONANCY who will go almost anywhere and do nearly anything if the pay is good.
