Ken: I was just kidding about the Texas comment. I actually grew up in SW Missouri and am working hard to become a "good Texan" over the past several years. You can contact any of these three hombres: Mike Shaw (president) @ 972.475.8379 (h)/972.701.5845 Don Arnold (event) @ 817.295.9145 (h) Jim Jones (event) @ 972.780.0587 (h)/817.784.8300 (w) We are trying to keep the price down also. Current plans are for a (3) day racing event (I believe), with a entry cost to cover all days. Options abound, as you might work out a (1) day Pantera event at a lower cost, or "Pantera" only groups to go out, etc. I believe they want to run the event similar to the Shelby Nationals with groups of cars based on speed/experience. Mike, Don or Jim can tell you more. Of course the event will include a Ford powered car show on Sunday, banquet featuring Carroll Shelby and Shelby American driver or connected person, auction of Shelby memorabilia and other misc. events. Bob Bondurant may show up this year. Past speakers include Peter Brock, William Jeanes and George Folmer. Artist Bill Neale MC's the event. You can see some of Bill's Pantera art in either the last Fall or Winter Pantera International issue. He is quite an artist. We're also talking to potential sponsors, as we do every year. The event raised over $14,000 for the Shelby Children's Fund last year. This organization pays for treatment and transplants for lower income children. Shelby and Bruton Smith are buddies, and he has worked out a pretty good deal (they tell me) since it is a charity event. S.
