Mike, I don't think you're making a generalization at all. I agree with what you're saying 100%. The Longchamp we have is a perfect example of a 'non-club' car which had slowly 'rotted'. It was in good shape in general, but because it hadn't been driven much in the 10 years that the previous owner had it and had not been maintained to be driven, I had to get new tires, new shocks and springs, change fluids and filters, bleed brakes, alignment, new exhaust system, etc. Not a trivial sum of cash there.... Had it not been such a good deal monetarily (in my opinion), low mileage and basically a sound car, I would have probably left it sitting and still be looking... And I think club people want more for their car because they know that it's a better value than the 'others'. Of course, that can be carried too far...
