-> My buddy owns a 1991 NSX. His door speaker began making an odd -> noise. He took it to the dealer and asked them to fix it. They -> called back and said, " Uh, Mr. Reynolds you might want to know -> before we order the speaker that it costs $759. Is that OK?" A friend recently had to replace two of the fancy Delco-Bose speakers in his 1990 Corvette. Each speaker is integrated with its requisite amplifier. The pair cost him around $750 from his friendly Chevrolet dealer. This kind of stuff is becoming much more common. Wait until you see your first $600 alternator (Chevy, Honda) or $125 distributor cap (Toyota). On the other hand, waltz down to your local Lincoln-Mercury dealer and try to buy a Pantera alternator; never mind it's a plain old Mercury Grand Marquis alternator... they never heard of a Pantera.
