Capt Mike Drew 136 Lighthouse Way Vacaville, CA 95688 (707) 452-9284 E-mail: MikeLDrew@aol.com All, I have been approached and asked to discretely broker the sale of an immaculate yellow '74 Pantera. This is an estate sale. The car is virtually bone stock, only changes that I can recall are the fitment of the standard Edelbrock Performer intake and Holley carburetor with vacuum secondaries (600 cfm?) The period "PANTERA" decal above the rocker panels is the only external deviation from stock. It rides on original 7 and 8 inch wheels. The owner was a professional mechanic by trade, who ran a shop specializing in Mercedes. He was a mechanic all his life, and was especially meticulous in the maintenance of his Pantera. I believe it is an original California car, with zero rust. I don't know the mileage of the car, but can say that if anything ever wore out (bushings, etc.) he would have replaced it immediately. Items like hoses, belts, fluids etc. were changed periodically in keeping with his mechanical philosophy. The owner kept a large supply of spare parts available (which have already been purchased by someone else.) I actually had the good fortune to drive this car for the entire Red Rock run last year. I can tell you firsthand that it is a magnificent car. Not a concours trailer queen, but rather a fantastic wash-and-wax driver that you can turn the key and drive across the U.S. tomorrow with no preparation needed, and no worries. It's quiet, it runs cool, the A/C blows cold (the owner actually performed all the work at PCNC A/C recharging tech sessions), the car goes straight, stops straight and true, every switch does what it's supposed to; in short the car flat-out works. I would equate its overall appearance, function and 'feel' to that of a two or three-year-old car. I got up to 120 mph during the drive, and the motor was still pulling hard. Near the end of my drive, I experienced some driveability problems later diagnosed to be a faulty carb. He purchased a rebuild kit and completely blueprinted and rebuilt the carb in the Union Plaza parking lot that same day; next day it ran perfectly. The asking price is simply this: Fair and reasonable to both parties. Anyone desiring further info, please e-mail me directly at MikeLDrew@aol.com Mike
