it's amazing, every time i mention this car, i get comments &/or questions.

the 411 was datsun's precursor to the 510 sedan. afaik, it was sold only on

the west coast.  when i got mine here in md, it had the orig black w/yellow

ca plates in the trunk.  i had 2 (non-sss) of these when i lived in or in

the early 80's they're kinda more rounded than the 510 - people who don't

know about it usually ask if it's some kinda old bmw !?!  the sss

designation means that it basically has the mechanicals of the datsun 1600

roadster, w/dual-carbed 100hp motor, stiffer springs/shocks, etc.; instead

of the more mundane 1300 single-carb 411 sedans.  exciting, huh?  :>)

	Hey !  I raced a 510 SSS !  I have all the "true" emblems too !
