I have a single point vacuum advance Ford distributor. We rebuilt it when installing the Jacobs electronic ignition system (see PI Summer 1997). We put a new vacuum pot on it, cleaned the rubber remains out of the bottom, and put in a Pertronex ignitionless system. I didn't know that the unilte system which was in the stock distributor would have worked with the Jacobs, or I would never have pulled it out. It and a big Accel coil have been sitting in my garage for a year now. The Jacobs system (similar to MSD)is really good. I highly recommend it. The unilte conversion fit under the stock cap in the Ford distributor and sure fooled folks. Plus it almost always worked. I had to replace the module a few years ago, but I probably only put 3,00 miles on it. Like I said, I would have left it in if I had talked to Jacobs before installation. However, the Pertronex took about 15 minutes to install and was only $89 or so. Scott Black Dallas, TX ---CBachelor@aol.com wrote: > > Thinking of chucking my single point distributor (72L #4313).
