PCNC had a dyno day in 1992 where we took a bone-stock L-model Pantera (with its lower compression ratio, open-chamber heads), and did back-to-back tests with different intake and carb combinations. The intent was to progressively add bigger and better intakes and carbs, but unfortunately the car suffered a completely random electrical short (the wire for the electric choke, which runs through the passenger side rocker panel, shorted out in there and caused a small electrical fire!) and the test ended. Here were the results we gained, though. | Intake --> | Stock | Stock | Performer | Performer |--------------------------------------------------------- | Carb --> | Stock | 600 Vac | 600 Vac | 600 Econo |--------------------------------------------------------- RPM | 3000 | 158 | 162 | 167 | 169 |--------------------------------------------------------- | 4000 | 191 | 202 | 206 | 210 |--------------------------------------------------------- | 5000 | 205 | 222 | 232 | 232 |--------------------------------------------------------- | 5500 | 198 | 220 | 230 | 230 --------------------------------------------------------- HORSEPOWER Remember that we were testing with an engine with less potential than your Euro GTS (your motor has much higher compression, and thus makes more power out of the box.) In this particular example, an Edelbrock intake was worth about a 10-horsepower increase across the board over a stock intake with the same Holley carb. Remember, though, that the 'stock' intake had been machined to accept the Holley, and thus was more optimized than your intake/carb combo. If I was a guessing man, given that you'd be going from a mismatched carb/intake combo to an Edelbrock, both on a more-powerful motor to begin with, I'd expect to see at least a 15 hp increase, maybe 20, maybe 25??? On the last test, we switched from one 'performance' 600 cfm carb to an 'econoline' 600 cfm carb (both by Holley) and the change was so tiny as to be insignificant. Hope this helped (and hope the chart I made above comes out okay!) Mike
