All, David Greed (of New Zealand) on the Triump list sent the following to me. Does it sound right to our historians? Shane Just thought you may be interested... Our Triumph Car Club ran a British and European Car Display today, and one of the display cars was a De Tamaso Pantera GTS which was very interesting Apparently it was the last shell built and was bought as such by the Chrysler Motor Company in the US. They wanted to build a car that would achieve 200 mph. In the event, they just missed their goal, but the way the attempted it was by putting in one of their engines, equipped with twin turbos. The car was eventually sold in the US with ownership eventually ending up with Jim Henson of the Muppets fame. Paul - the current owner bought (less transmission) the car from the Jim Henson estate while working in England and has recently imported it here to New Zealand where he now lives. The car is stored here in Cambridge apparently, and he drives it from time to time, but waits until there is little traffic on the road. Listening to it today, it is quite obvious it is not keen on slow running... David Greed 1979 2500S Manual O/D Shane Ingate in San Diego
