I installed a stainless steel gastank firewall this past week. I thought it would be easy, so I bought one, then learned that I may have to wait until the engine is out... But if you remove the read deck, you can install it easily. I think it looks great. The unit I bought from Larry's PPCo is a single piece of polished steel, with rolled edges on the top and front (of the car) side. ($170 list, $117 on sale) Remove the rear deck (I suggest pulling the hinge pins versus removing the bolts that go into the roof.) and disconnect the left deck shock, top and bottom, and remove. Disconnect the right shock from the deck, just the top mount is necessary. Remove your air cleaner, then move the fuel lines out of the way. [ It barely fits into place, a few beers in the installer helps working it into place.] The panel is meant to go over the stock panel, with the rolled edges going over the edge of the stock panel. The fit, once the rolled edges were pried open a little, was tight, and no rivets were necessary. Install the deck, and you are done. Looks good, not expensive, and an easy install. Even something Chuck (Murphy's son) can do right ! Chuck #4580
