The fit, once the rolled edges were pried open a little, was tight, and no rivets were necessary. >>>Two things: 1) I don't know how tight 'tight' is, but if *I* spend over a hundred bucks on something like that, I'll do whatever it takes to make sure it doesn't go CLANG into the road the first time I hit a bump. Methinks a well-placed rivet or clamp or SOMETHING wouldn't be a bad idea. 2) Hindsight is 20/20, but when installing one of those shields (I did on my car), I'd take the time to fit a THIN piece of heatshielding material between the stainless and original heat shield. I fit some thicker stuff between my stainless firewall and the car's firewall, and another layer between the firewall and the inside bulkhead. I figure that between two layers of heatshielding and two firewalls, my interior should be nice and cool! (That is, if I EVER get my car on the road!)
