 Yep.  I got away with it for years - hell, the older Ford service

manuals *tell* you to use the bolt to pull the balancer on - and then...

let's just say the bolt in my current crank turns 'round and 'round.

Disassembling the motor will be interesting, some day.  I now have an

assortment of balancer installation tools.
