OK, I finally got around to pulling the valve covers on the Longchamp. Put some new gaskets in and was looking for the reason for a strange 'miss' that causes the car to vibrate a little. First, the right head, which has the 2's in each corner has a 2819 in the casting. And I didn't see anything else. The left head, with no 2's has an 8029 (it could be a 3029... it's hard to read) and D3AE-62B in the casting. Pulled out the POCA with Steve Liebenow's head article and I'm now more confused than ever... The right head must have some other info that I missed. Any comments? Second, the 'miss' vibrates the car slightly and I can hear a 'ting ting ting' on the right bank exhaust pipe near the header while the engine is idling. I didn't see any broken valve springs, but probably need to look closer again. I ran the car with each valve cover off, but didn't see anything or hear anything obvious. The lifters seemed to be working OK and all the rockers were moving the same as best I could tell... New spark plug wires, new plugs, distributor cap is OK... Where's the vibration coming from? It doesn't feel like an ignition problem... and all the plugs looked fine when I pulled them.
