My block was clean and writing on it that indicated it had passed
magnaflux.  The block appears to be standard bore and there is
no ridge.  There's some crud that looks like it was leftover from
the hot tank but it comes off easily.

I tried to have it sonic tested but no one around here does it.
I can weigh the block if anyone has a bare U.S. block for 
comparison.

I know there are 2 bolt and 4 bolt Aussie blocks.  Mines the 2 
bolt variety but NASCAR used the 4 bolt style.  The 4 bolt blocks
are much more expensive.

Anybody have any reports on the quality of the Aussie blocks being
sold by Mike Fielder @ Australian Muscle Parts ?

Anybody done any sonic testing on them and have wall thickness
numbers ? Dan, what kind of shape was the block you bought in
when it arrived ?

Does anyone know whether *all* Aussie blocks are thick wall castings ?
