Charlie,
When you posted this question last week, I called one my one best clients
and friends who also happens to be a worldwide freight forwarder. He
handles worldwide shipments for the government and Fortune 500 clients.

He told me that the pricing you were looking at was most probably on
deck, where your car is raped, pillaged, and plundered while it rusts for
a month. He wouldn't ship scrap that way.

He said that the proper way is to deliver the car to the shipper, where
the battery is removed, fuels stabilized, then the tank drained. Car is
wrapped, then put in a sealed container and strapped down so it can't
move.

>From Baltimore to LeHarve, he said the market price is $2200 at the
moment. Always subject to change, shopping, and negotiating.

FWIW.
