I have spent a lot of time and effort in this area. I didn't notice any real change in rigidity until I installed a full cage and tied it together at the front and rear. I also cross braced the engine bay. That helped.

I would like to install roll bars in my Pantera and improve the chassis
rigidity. It seems to me that if I installed a standard roll bar inside the
cabin and then run two struts from the bar into the engine compartment I
could solve both conditions. My preference is to keep the cabin clear of the
strut that extends from the roll bar on a diagonal into the passenger area
in the typical three point installation. I would think that the two struts
entending from the roll bar through a plexiglass rear window and attached to
the wheel wells just infront of the shock braces would serve the same
purpose - and reduce some of the tendency for flexing. A full roll cages
seems to intrusive for my use of this car.

Would appreciate some opinions on this subject... Thanks Forest Majors
