I'm considering running titanium valves in my A3 heads. Anyone
know the ins and outs of running them on the street? Are they
compatible with conventional cast iron and bronze valve guides?
Do you need to go tighter or looser in the guides? Any trouble with
running steel tips (do they ever back out)?

While titanium has greater strength per weight than steel, it's not as
strong per volume. Is this a problem? Are titanium valves less reliable
than stainless? Should I run 7 or 10 degree keepers? What about
titanium retainers?

My dad has a Sioux valve grinder and we do our own valve jobs.
Anything special when doing titanium valves? I noticed in a catalog
that you're not supposed to lap some titanium valves? Why not?

thanks,
Dan Jones
