Doesn't SVO offer a 351 block in a Cleveland deck height? Would that
prevent some of these problems?
I interviewed Vic Edelbrock for a Pantera International article
recently, and he said they are limited their offering for the 351C
because it has been out of production so long. They are also about to
offer a 351EFI system, along with all the manifolds, cam's and
aluminum heads.
I would have to vote for a 351 SVO, especially if you could put 351C
style valve covers on it.

from lack of development ever since. The 351 W will fit fine, but
will need new exhaust headers, some accessory bracket changes and a
bit of H2O plumbing work. But then you have a superior block, oodles
of aftermarket head availability (even the mighty Brodix has joined
the fray), Factory EFI if you like, and taller deck hight for stroker
capability.
