I too was shocked and disheartened to hear of D-Mann's crash.  I called a good
friend of mine who is on the West Desert police department and asked if he had
any additional information on the crash.  Seems they have determined that D-
Mann blew a right front tyre at speed.  After careful examination it was found
that the tyre
had suffered a small puncture, causing the subsequent crash.  A visiting UC
biologist examined the remains of the tyre and has positively indentified the
source of the puncture - an Iguana's tooth!  What a tragedy, but as they say,
pay-backs are a bitch.  Couldn't help but wonder if his dear Mom had fixed his
favorite Iguana sandwiches for the fateful outing?!

As a side note, he said he would never forget the look on D-Mann's face - he
described it as the look of a person that had been to heaven!  Said he
couldn't equate that to a crumpled speedometer, with the needle indicating
220+mph!  D-Mann might be gone, but he'll live on as our hero.
