Firstly, thanks to everyone who responded to my original questions about
the cooling problems I was having. I finally got round to doing some
tests on the cooling system and found that my shinny new meat
thermometer read very close to the Veglia gauge. I then went to great
lengths to bleed any air out. No change in running temp. Decided to
get rid of all the antifreeze in the coolant and replaced it with 100%
water. About 5F lower but still way too hot, so I moved on to the
radiator. Took it out and discovered that water passed between the
upper and lower partitions of the rh radiator tank very easily. Bit
like my bowels after eating that suspicious tasting meat then. So what
do I do? I'd rather not have to buy a whole new radiator if I can avoid
it, so a reconditioning job seems a good (?) option. What do I ask for,
and where do I go (near Mountain View, or San Francisco if possible).
Is it ok to go to any radiator shop or are some better than others?
Incidentally, the radiator has "FIM Forcellini Bologna" - Italy stamped
on it.

On another subject, my rh Weiand (original equipment?) cam cover has a
small crack in it next to one of the bolt holes and leaks a small amount
of oil. Sounds like a girl I once knew! Can I get this fixed (tig/mig
welded perhaps) or does anyone have a replacement, or do I have to buy
two new covers?
Cheers,
Max

I also sheared a sway bar bracket (driving in a straight line along the
freeway). Has anyone else ever had this?
