I just got off the phone with Dennis, and he stated that 10 Panteras ran and
10 cars finished. The talk of the race before and after was all about the
Panteras, nobody could believe 10 cars were there, or even more interesting,
all 10 finished. 

There were some last minute mechanical girations by Dennis, but he made it
through with help from Larry Stock. He he hit the dips about 4 miles early on
his speedo, probably due to his  gearing upgrade. He hit the first dips really
hard, and throttled back after that. He hit so hard he bent his rear quarter
panel. He thinks he may have been DQ'd, because he dropped his speed under 130
mph (he was in the 160 mph class) while he was sorting out the car.

But as I told him last night, ther will always be another race. The road will
be totally resurfaced by September. Evidently Car and Driver is going to run a
car in September, and that is why they did not cover this race. Also September
is the 10th Anniversary, so it going to be a real big deal. there is talk they
are going to go for speed recordon the new road.

My only contribution was the cool hats everybody wore around, freaking out the
Corvette guys. Several 'Vettes DNF and pulled off the course.
