Hi,
Well, there must be at least two variations on the Dash-One ratios. I
just crawled under my #1549. The ZF has I.D. # 1031-001-061 (5DS-25-1) and
is the original trans. The following ratios are stamped on the ID plate:
2.42,1.47,1.09,0.96,0.705 and 2.86 R with 4.22 final. So it has the same
final ratio as the -2, but the lower gear ratios are -1's. The following is
a table of the relative ratiios with the previous gear based on Don M's
data (below) and my 061 Dash One. Looking at the -2 numbers, its hard to
understand the logic in their choice (or is the 1.41 3rd gear value a typo
or missprint)? Given this info, I might be better off keeping my old -1 and
sell my new in the box -2 as the ratios seem to make more sense.

                 2nd 3rd 4th 5th
dash 1 060 ? 165% 135% 114% 113%
my dash 1 061 165% 135% 114% 136%
dash 2 152% 104% 167% 120%

Another consideration in my decision is whine. My current trans has always
had a slight whine that is somewhat annoying when cruising. I've been told
that the -2s are quieter. Any truth to this?
