I know my pinging problem went away when a new carb was installed.
Maybe in your case, it may have been the manifold. But a carb is a
complicated device. Anyway, it sounds like you are on the right track
now. Enjoy!
BTW: Sorry it took me so long to respond, but it's tough trying to keep
up with all the posts that are now on the net.
