Thanks for all the advice from everyone who replied to my questions.
I've decided to stick with the current radiator and get a 4 row recore
with "dimpled tubes" which should increase the internal turbulence and
hence the heat exchange efficiency. Must be better than my total bypass
system I had before! They will also silver solder a new horizontal
baffle in the tank. Total cost is around $400. I've also found a TIG
welding shop, so I should be able to get my valve cover repaired as
well, presuming heat distortion won't be a problem.
Now for some _more_ questions if you're not getting too bored with my
pestering!
1. My rh rear wheel appears to protrude more than the left. On large
bumps it just catches the body, while the lhs just clears. The frame
rail which the lower wishbone is attached to has some rusting (will fix)
but looks to be straight, and is certainly not distorted the inch or two
that is the difference between the left and the right wheels. The
wishbone shimming on each side of the car looks about the same and
nothing looks bent. I wonder if the car body may not be symmetrical or
whether I have a more serious problem?
2. When I bought the car it already had Wilwood calipers and HUGE vented
disks fitted. The handbrake isn't connected and there doesn't seem to
be any obvious way to connect to the rear calipers. Is there something
I can do, or is this the price I pay for awesome stopping power?
Cheers
Max
