I'm not an expert on this, but I'll have my say. If your original Ford
carb was in pretty good shape, ie no vacume leaks etc, I expect that you
will not find any difference at all. In fact, you may find that your
car will be less responsive, slower at low and mid-range, and will
guzzle more fuel.
The original Ford carb works pretty well. Until you start increasing
compression and helping the motor to exhale better, changing the carb will
not be much a gain.
I'd recommend putting the original carb on the Perfromer manifold, you
will notice a difference with that.
