The resistor on the back of the em. flasher is not the right one. On our Sept
'72 car, it was in the wire bundle next to the distributor, under some
electrical tape. I've heard others say it was near the gauge under the console
on theirs. Trace the sender wire from the tank, untaping as req'd until you
either run out of wire (therefore no resistor) or you locate it- a 5 watt, 1/2
