Hi Everyone; Here's an update on the wheel deal.First let me state that my
car isn't lowered. And it shouldn't matter if it was raised 10 feet in the
air or lowered 3 feet underground,or equipped with JFZ,PDF or Fred
Flintstone brakes. The fact remains that I paid approximately twice the price
of some of the cheaper (and I think Ugly)wheels like Centerlines. Why did I
pay this;because this allowed me to specify a specific offset.Which I did
specify and did not receive.
All the rest of this is subterfuge.I perceive Mr.Adlers caution as a threat
to try and intimidate me into silence. To this I have to say "Melior est
conditio possidentis,et rei quam actoris".Therefore I think you and your
band of cohorts need an ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT.I and my legal department look
forward to your litagation.
Looking forward to seeing you;Dave R

Subject: A solution to the wheel problem

June 9, 1998

Dear Mr. Crehberg,
I have been investigating the problem that you have had with the
clearance problems on your Pantera.
I personally spoke with Steve Wilkinson today to try to discover
precisely what has occured and how it can be fixed to your satisfaction.
Here is what I have learned:
1. According to Steve, he has NEVER had a set of REAR wheels that did
not clear the coachwork, even with Wilwood brakes, EXCEPT in cases where
the customer is substantially lowering the automobile. We were NOT told
you planned to lower your car at the time of purchase. You indicate the
tires stick out 1/4 of an inch. A very small amount. We are not talking
here about 1 inch or 2 inches or something of that magnitude.
2. Steve said that he has sold wheels to both Collector's Choice and
Pantera Performance customers with Wilwood brakes like yours that have
NOT had the problems you report on the REARS. Steve said your problems
could be traceable to "cantilevered tires" that are making contact with
your bodywork or due to extreme lowering. Steve Wilkinson says that his
stock offsets always clear the bodywork.
3. PI Motorsports, Inc. did not manufacture these wheels. We only
ordered them to your specification, not ours. At the time the wheels
were ordered for you, it was specified the wheels were to be installed
on a Wilwood equipped Pantera. We simply delivered to you what has been
ordered.
Your comments indicate delay in the manufacture of the wheel,
certainly you must realize we had no control over the timing of the
delivery of the wheels to you. The inference is we delayed delivery and
that is incorrect.
It has been our custom to offer discounts on selected items regularly
in our published ads and on our website. We will now be changing to an
across the board discount on all items. However, we have always had
discounts for PI members.
At Monterey, I have no recollection of my saying that I "would take of
it" as you state. Since I was not involved in the transaction and in
August of '97, I was not in a position to remedy any problem. I seldom
even worked at PI Motorsports and never adjusted customer returns at
that point, although I am committed to trying to solve this problem.
According to Steve Wilkinson, the rear wheels can be offset an
additional amount to meet your specification. The cost is approximately
$160. per wheel. I would suggest that the wheels be returned directly to
us and we will oversee the work to be performed. I would ask that you
make certain that the tires you are using are not the culprits as Steve
indicated they might be.
We would like to try to satisfy you in this unfortunate matter. I
invite you to telephone me to work out the details. I also believe that
some of your published comments amount to an actionable libel that could
subject you to monetary damages and I would caution you to make certain
that your representations are accurate when publishing them on the
internet or any other form of media. We favor an informal resolution of
the matter but that choice must be yours.
	Cordially,
	David Adler
	PI Motorsports, Inc.
