Wayne,
I read your posting and I'm not sure what you're doing, so I'm responding
off list. I have a large set of multi-sized spot weld removers you can
borrow, but you need those welds. They hold the panels together, and you
only drill them out to separate the panels.
Hit them with a small grinder just to minimally flatten them, coat with
filler, sand and forget.
