I use brass shim stock; steel strap will get pretty hot carrying that much
current. In any case, I'd advise insulating the heck out of any shunt- if it
shorts to ground under the console, you WILL have an electrical fire! And you
can "tune" the needle swings by the width of the shunt you use: smaller shunt=
