By chance does anyone have an idea on what the cost is to import a
Pantera from Italy?
Since I am right in the middle of trying to bring my Pantera from the US to France, I can tell you all about this. I can give you transportation cost, what I cannot give you is any import duties or so forth. Having someone pick up a car from France and deliver it to New Jersey is a shade over $1000 for a Pantera. Price is based on cubic feet of car, we luck out by having a short car. I assume the price from Italy would be in the same ballpark.
I would recommend visiting www.danstephens.com's website, which is the shipping broker I will use. He lists all the requirements, available ports, and miscellaneous information. He uses Atlantic Container Lines, which uses roll-on roll-off ships, which keep your car below deck and out of the elements. THis is the same company used to transport all the Volvos you see in the US, and who knows what other makes.
As far as duties and taxes, I couldn't begin to guess. If you have any other questions, I am knee-deep in this stuff right now and if you get serious I can save you some time and steer you in the right direction...
